CHIEF FEATURES (Based on 0830 hours IST observations)

 

§  Under the influence of ongoing Western Disturbance scattered precipitation is likely to occur over Western Himalayan region and adjoining northern plains during next 24 hours.

§  Numerical weather prediction models suggest that a fresh easterly wave is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread Rain/thundershowers over parts of south peninsular India during next 2-3 days.

§  Minimum temperatures are 5-8º C above normal over central India and adjoining west India, these were below normal by 2-4° C over north Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Numerical weather prediction models suggest change in existing wind pattern leading to likely fall in minimum temperatures from tomorrow onwards.

Weather Outlook from 0830 hrs. IST of 23rd   November to 0830 hrs. IST of 25th November, 2008 (Based on numerical weather products):

§       Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely over south peninsula. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Kerala and south Tamil Nadu on 22nd November.

§       Fall in night temperatures over northwest and adjoining central India.
