IMD has been examining the Full Sitting cases received from Government/Private Service Providers as per applications accepted by Standing Advisory Committee for Frequencies allocation(SACFA) under Wireless & Planning Co-ordination (Department of Telecommunication). Applications are being examined on the basis of frequencies being used by various divisions of IMD from interference point of view to IMD Radio Links.
Telecom Training Centre of Telecom Division
has been examining the SACFA applications on the basis of frequencies of Radio
Links provided by Satellite Meteorology
(Satmet) and Deputy Director General of Meteorology (Upper-Air Instruments)
DDGM(UI) divisions who are using various links such as Satellite links, Radars,
Radio-sonde/ Rawin-wind
equipments, etc. The cases are examined for the interference to the IMD Radio
links if any as per the frequencies listed Annexure- I (Satmet Division) and
Annexure-II DDGM (UI)
The cases pertaining to Tall Building of High rise building & Mast Height received from Builders & Service providers are examined by DDGM(UI) and Sat Met Divisions. Clearance are given on the basis of height of the building /blocks/Mast from Ground level and distance to various Met. Aids of IMD. Policy of IMD for clearance of Tall Buildings proposed to be constructed in the Major Metropolitan Cities for operation of IMD’s Weather Radars has been framed as per Annexure – III. The cases are examined on the basis of recommendations specific to Chennai as per Annexure-IV.
