Instruments Training Centre (ITC) was
established at New Delhi in 1962 for imparting specialized training in the
discipline of instrumentation related to Upper Air Instruments, Surface
Instruments, Radar, Seismological Instruments, Sat. Met. Instruments, Telecom
Instruments etc. The ITC is one of the Regional Training
Centre of World Meteorological Organization. Foreign nominees from more than
22 countries have been trained so far under various international
co-operation schemes. Courses Offered The following training

Officers ) (c) Special courses: As and when needed special training
courses in Instrumentation of 4-8 weeks duration are also arranged by this
centre departmental /extra-departmental
trainees and foreign nominees. In the Intermediate Course of 4 months
duration, the emphasis is given on the operational and observational aspects
of all equipments used in the department. In
the Advanced Course of 6 months duration, the stress is laid on the theory,
maintenance and servicing of different types of equipments used in Upper Air
Instruments. Facilities provided The centre is equipped with latest
teaching aids facilities Viz., Electronic Board (with facilities of print
out) / Interactive teaching board / Multimedia Projection system, Scanner,
Digital Camera, CD writer, Color & B/W Photostat machines, Over head
Projector & Personal Computers etc. The training centre has its own
library having more than 400 books besides the main library at H.Q. Well furnished hostel facilities are
provided for Departmental / Extra-departmental and Foreign Trainees. Trainees
